When Wordsworth wrote in 1802,

he was acknowledging that the bond between humanity and the natural world was already effectively severed. At the start of 21st century Western society’s preference for the virtual worlds offered by technology to anything that nature can offer becomes every day more evident. So is humanity’s relationship with nature in terminal decline? At More Than Us Scottish visual artists, Dalziel + Scullion, in collaboration with the government agency, Scottish Natural Heritage, invited key thinkers in the field of contemporary ecology to address this subject matter and worked closely to produce two major projects that were delivered in 2007, the Year of Highland Culture. This website provides information on the event and artworks that resulted.
